- Take a photograph of your room before starting any design changes to identify issues and document progress. 
- Incorporate at least three sources of lighting in each room, including overhead, task, and ambient lighting, and consider using pink light bulbs for a flattering glow.
- Limit your color palette to two or three colors to create a cohesive and sophisticated look, making decorating easier and more appealing.
